Dr. Momodou E. Touray is the Executive Director, ad. Interim and Policy Advisor on Economic Governance and Development Aid. Dr. Touray has vast experience working on Development; he was an Economic Advisor and Senior Policy Advisor for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and has worked in support of Governments in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda to mention a few. Notably, he was a panellist in key UNDP/BCPR publications on “Post-Conflict Economic Recovery: Lessons Learned”, the United Nation’s Secretary General’s “ UN System-wide Policy on Employment in post-Conflict Recovery” and “Guidance Note on Local Level Development”. He was prized with the UNDP Administrator’s Certificate of Recognition for his contributions to development work of the UNDP.
Dr. Touray served in his home country Government as a Policy Analyst, Macro- Economic Advisor, Head of the Poverty Reduction and Development Assistance Office. He also served as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs in The Gambia. He notably led the PRSP and Debt Relief processes and was a team member of the Budget Reforms and the renegotiation of the post-HIPC IMF Programme in The Gambia.
Dr. Touray completed a Ph.D Course in Corporate Strategic Management and an M.Phil in Business Studies at the Grenoble-based Ecole Superieure des Affaires, an M.Sc in Financial Economics at the University of Montpellier, France and a B.Sc in Economics at the University Pierre-Mendes France in Grenoble, France. He was a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Geneva and Strategy Management at the Grenoble Graduate Business School.
